God Bless America Rally Set Aside

Churches Focusing on Food Relief

Due to the massive floods that swept violently through central West Virginia (June 23), the God Bless America Rally in Charleston, (Sept. 11) has been set aside.  The leadership of the GBA Rally (Moderators and Steering Committee) announced this difficult decision today (July 2) recognizing that the focus of area churches is on flood relief and recovery efforts for several weeks to come.

Many of the GBA Rally Sponsoring churches are already deeply engaged in flood assistance work.  Wonderful opportunities to share food, supplies, comfort and the Gospel with thousands of hurting West Virginians are underway.  Volunteers from these churches are helping families dig out of the mud and debris left behind.  God is at work!  People are being saved through the expressions of Christ-like love and the message of salvation in Jesus!

Moderators, Pastor T. Kevan Bartlett and Evangelist Byron Foxx and Vice Moderator Dr. John Reynolds felt the leading of the Lord to cancel the GBA Rally in light of the massive scope of labor and finances that are immediately needed to assist churches, families and communities that have been devastated by the flooding.

The future God Bless America events will continue!   The next event is already in progress to be held in Southwestern Virginia / Eastern Tennessee in May of 2017.
